Palliative Care and End of Life Options

• We at Whole Heart Veterinary Wellness understand that severe, debilitating or terminal illness can be very stressful for our animal companions, as well as on their caregivers.  In-home palliative care is the perfect option for peacefully tending to our beloved animal patients in their stress-free home environments.

• Dr. Cody uses an integrative approach to incorporate the most effective treatment options from both eastern and western medicine.  Often times, in the later stages of disease, pharmaceutical or surgical options become exhausted or they are no longer feasible or effective in maintaining optimal comfort.  By pursuing adjunctive therapies, such as acupuncture, cold laser therapy, Chinese herbal therapy, and therapeutic massage (to name a few), we are able to improve upon the quality, and hopefully also the quantity, of life of our four-legged friends. 

 

• Every step of the way, Dr. Cody will be there to provide guidance to know when it is time for the decision for humane euthanasia in order to avoid unnecessary suffering and to aid in the peaceful passing of your companion.

• Dr. Cody is dedicated to compassionately assisting you with your pet's end-of-life transition in the comfort and privacy of your home.   ​

• NOTE:  Weekend or after hours scheduling is very limited and only upon specific request, however, we unfortunately may not be able to accommodate your request upon short notice; additional fees apply under these circumstances.

• Aftercare and Cremation Services:   ​Cremation services and individual pricing will be discussed with you upon scheduling a humane euthanasia appointment for your pet.  The crematorium also provides various keepsake options that can be selected to commemorate your beloved companion upon request.
